This New Fashion Start-Up Adds Stability and Versatility to High Heels

by

A new fashion start-up understands that stretch is footwear’s secret weapon for a secure fit.

Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Kickstands offers women a versatile solution to keep heels on their feet with a collection of reversible straps that make high heels more stable.

The initial collection of straps features a range of patterns and colors designed to go from “purse to pumps in seconds.” A rubber eyelet on each strap allows a pump’s heel to slide through, while the elastic fabric strap comfortably conforms to the top of the foot.

The concept for Kickstands came from founder and CEO Michelle Johnson’s own experience wearing high heels. A corporate consultant by day, Johnson saw a need for a product that would prevent her heels from slipping while traveling for work across the U.S. “It started as a very simple idea,” Johnson said in a press release. “I needed to get from point A to point B without tripping, but I simply couldn’t find the right product.”

During the product development process, Johnson quickly realized that the heel straps not only served a functional purpose, but also had the ability add a punch of style and versatility to a woman’s shoe collection. Strap styles include dots, florals and crisscross patterns, each with a complementary solid color on the reverse side. The collection retails for $20 each.
